The objective is to federate the existing IT clusters within the Upper Rhine (Rhénatic, CyberForum, Medien Forum, IT Forum R-N, companies from Basel) in order to :
- find together long-term solutions to major challenges to be faced by the sector in the coming years (staff shortages)
- strengthen the sector’s competitiveness
- maintain and develop the attractiveness of the Upper Rhine area as a zone of excellence on the world-market in IT
- stimulate business between the Upper Rhine actors
- integrate sustainable development aims into the IT sector and develop their impacts on other sectors
- The creation of a strategy for creating, keeping and even attracting to the region the IT skills needed by the sector
- Benchmark all possible IT training taught in the Upper Rhine (initial, continuous, professional) and create a strategy to adapt the existing training offer
- Integrate the challenges of sustainable development into IT company strategies as well as GREEN IT practices. Creation of a Green IT fair in the Upper Rhine, recognised on a European level, to promote the green companies of the zone and make a wider dissemination of this approach
- The creation of strong links and synergies between the Upper Rhine IT clusters’ companies through events, common workshops, collaborative networking tools for knowledge sharing, joint delegations to other regions to promote and disseminate the IT skills of the Upper Rhine
- Share experiences and know-how in “cluster management” between IT cluster managers and IT2R consortium members
- Promote the Upper Rhine as an attractive, dynamic and innovative region thanks to its skills and infrastructures in IT
